Nalgene Water Bottle

Going for a hike is when I need my water bottle the most and am the least likely to carry it, so I made this hands-free Nalgene carrrier. If you want to make one like it, here's what I did: Using worsted weight kitchen cotton yarn, CO 3 sts onto 3 dpns (I used 8's.). Round 1: kfb in every stitch In following founds, kfb in the first stitch on each dpn, then knit to end of needle. When you have 36 sts, switch to mesh pattern: 1) *yo, k2tog*, rep to end 2) k When it reaches the desired length (which ought to be shorter than shown in photo--a little less than halfway up the bottle-it'll stretch, I promise), work k2, p2 ribbing for about an inch. Bind off, leaving last 6 sts on needle. Work these sts in garter stitch until strap reaches desired length, then seam last 6 stitches to opposite side. (The strap will stretch a lot when weighed down with a full bottle, so check the length with a bottle in it.) Weave in ends. Ba da boom, ba da bing!
